This garden began, as the best ones do, with the place itself.

Our clients collaborated closely throughout, bringing their own mark to the design. A series of sea creature ceramics, handmade by the client and arranged vertically around the pergola, pay quiet homage to the nearby Primrose Sands coastline and the strange, beautiful life that moves below the tide line.

The concept of Genius Loci — the pervading spirit of place — sits at the heart of everything we do. It is our namesake and our starting point. The what, the where and the why guide every decision, ensuring each garden feels connected to its surroundings rather than imposed upon them. Here, coastal tones and textures do that work naturally. Stone retaining, rusted steel and native coastal species speak directly to the marine environment buffered by the dunes just beyond the fence line.

A garden that could only exist in this place, for these people, on this stretch of coast.
